Stuart (Supercool) Sherlock made this recording of three model airplanes racing around two pylons. Airspeeds are typically 160 MPH with a .21 cubic inch engine running at 29000 RPM. The Doppler shift as the models change direction with respect to the tape recorder is well displayed and can be used to measure model speed. |
